Q: What makes hair go gray or white?
A: Melanin is the pigment that determines your natural hair color. As we age, the levels of melanin in our body start to decrease which in turn causes your hair to go gray.
Q. How does Restoria Discreet work?
A. Restoria Discreet is not a dye. Restoria Discreet works with the hair's natural chemicals to restore natural looking color. The hair gradually develops the same rich blends of highlights and shades found in natural human hair. It does this by counteracting the effect of pigment starvation in the cortex of the hair.
Q. When will I see results?
A. Restoria Discreet gets rid of gray hair gradually. It works slowly over two to three weeks to return natural looking color to the hair. It gradually turns gray or white hair a golden brown, then, day by day a medium brown then dark brown to black if desired. There is no sudden change. Your friends will only notice how much younger you look.
Q. Will Restoria Discreet work on any color hair?
A. Yes! And you don't need a color chart! You control the color whether you're blond, brunette or dark.
Q: Do I need to wear plastic gloves?
A: No. Unlike some conventional dyes, Restoria Discreet will not stain the skin.
Q. Restoria Discreet Cream and Restoria Discreet Lotion: What's the difference?
A. Restoria Discreet Cream is rich and concentrated. It adds shine and lustre to the hair, making it manageable and easy to style. Restoria Discreet Lotion is transparent, non-greasy and is generally preferred by those who like a softer look. Cream and Lotion are equally effective and safe.
Q. How do I control the color?
A. When your hair reaches the shade you desire, which is usually within two or three weeks, use Restoria Discreet Cream less often. Most people find that once or twice a week is sufficient to maintain the color. You may find you need Restoria Discreet Cream more often or less frequently than this, depending upon the length of your hair, how gray you are and how fast your hair grows.
Q. How often should I shampoo?
A. When first using Restoria Discreet Cream we recommend that you shampoo only once or twice a week using a mild shampoo, like Restoria ColourPlus. After you reach the color you desire, you may shampoo as often as you wish.
Q: Does Restoria Discreet work on all hair types?
A: Yes. However the thickness and texture of your hair will influence the coloring process: the more porous your hair, the faster Restoria Discreet will work. If your hair is less porous, the process will be slower and you may have to use Restoria Discreet daily for a little longer. However, once you have reached the color you wish, Restoria Discreet Cream need only be applied once or twice a week to cover the new hair growth.
Q. Can I keep some gray?
A. Yes - some customers prefer to keep some gray hair - blending them in naturally. To achieve this, do not apply Restoria Discreet to any area you want to keep gray and simply comb your hair normally so the colours blend naturally together.
Q. Will Restoria Discreet Cream wash off or run?
A. No - Restoria Discreet is permanent and colorfast. However, if you discontinue using Discreet, the color will very gradually fade from your hair over time. It will not color skin or clothes - only hair.
Q. Will a gray parting reappear?
A. No - because when you use Restoria Discreet regularly you color the hair as it grows in from the roots.
Q. Should I use a rinse or tint as well as using Restoria Discreet?
A. It is not advisable to use two products containing active ingredients at the same time. However if you ensure that you shampoo well a couple of times after applying a tint or dye then you can begin using Restoria Discreet.
Q. What if I have previously been dyeing or tinting my hair?
A. Simply ensure that your hair is well washed and dried before using Restoria Discreet.
Q: Can Restoria Discreet damage my hair?
A: No. Restoria Discreet does not contain harsh chemicals that could cause dryness or damage. In fact, Restoria Discreet contains a built in conditioner and regular use helps keep the scalp free from dandruff and stops the hair from becoming too dry.
Q. Can I blow-dry my hair?
A. Yes, you can blow-dry your hair; in fact, this may speed up the coloring process.
Q. Can I use styling products with Restoria Discreet?
A. No. - Do not use any styling products such as hair gel; hair mousse; hair spray or wax. These products will build up on your hair follicle making it difficult for the Restoria Discreet to work. Once your hair has achieved the desired color you may resume using your normal products.
Q. Will swimming affect the results?
A. Just as swimming in chlorinated pools or in the ocean can lighten normal hair, you may find that it also lightens hair coloured with Restoria Discreet. If your hair becomes too light, simply increase the frequency and amount of Restoria Discreet you use.
Q. Can I get a Perm while using Restoria Discreet Cream?
A. Yes - we recommend Restoria Perm, developed to be used in conjunction with Restoria products. Other brands have neutralizers containing hydrogen peroxide which strip the color from your hair, Restoria Perm is designed to hold in the color.
Q. Will Restoria Discreet affect my jewellery?
A. Restoria Discreet contains a small amount of sulphur, which can discolor some types of metals. Avoid contact with jewellery however, if tarnishing does occur, simply use a commercial metal cleaner.
Q. Is Restoria Discreet safe?
A. Yes - perfectly safe when it is used as directed. Restoria Discreet meets all the requirements of the Australian NH & MRC and the USA Food and Drug Administration. It has also been tested by several independent laboratories and pharmacological authorities.
